Hello, having trvelled on a Midland Mainline (or what ever they are called this week) Meridian, I can say that these are not much better seating configurationwise than most 3+2 coaches / units. They are deseigned to rediculous strict safety regulations (not many of which apply to road travel), hence leaving alot of the coach unavailable for passenger use. This, coupled with the coaches being very narrow means the seats in use are cramped closer together and have a very upright position. Not very nice to travel any real distance in, and not very attractive in comparison to the car. F.JONES

GNER didnt describe the Voyager (which these units are a variant of) as "Cheap and Nasty" for no reason.
